Important Things to Think of as You Choose a Facial Wash

a woman using facial washWhen we hear “skincare,” we often think about facial oils, moisturizers, toners, and the like. Usually, the facial wash is often forgotten in the process, which is a big no-no.

Choosing the right type of facial wash is important as this is often the first thing that you do in your skincare routine. It is supposed to take away all of the dirt and gunk that has built up in your pores during the course of the day, which is why you should choose it carefully.

I have very dry skin, and for me, I find that anything with milk as an ingredient moisturizes my skin and makes it soft and supple. I use the luxury line Black Pearl Cosmetics by Sea of Spa in the Philippines. Their Refreshing Milk Cleanser completely strips off all of the dirt on my face while still keeping it moisturized.

I have three things that I always keep in mind when choosing a facial wash. Continue Reading below to know what they are.

1. Skin Type

The first thing that you must consider is your skin type. There are plenty of cleansers on the market that can be used for any skin type, such as the one that I am using.

If you have extremely oily, dry, or sensitive skin though, you’d be better off finding a facial wash that is specifically made for your skin type.

2. Harsh Cleansers

Stay away from soap-based cleansers as these can be harmful to your skin. It can strip away your face’s natural oils, which is essential for keeping a youthful and wrinkle-free skin.

You should instead opt for cleansers that have natural ingredients such as milk, aloe vera, tea tree, and the likes. You should also stay away from cleansers that have fragrances in them, as this can irritate the skin.

3. Over-Cleansing

Leaving the cleanser on your face for too long can irritate your skin and strip away its natural oils. Instead, wet your face, lather the facial wash, let it stay for only about 10 seconds, and then rinse.

Visit your dermatologist and ask them what the best type of facial wash would be to use for you. Have fun shopping for your facial wash!
